Advanced Steroid Cycles
Advanced anabolic steroid users are the top tier of experienced users, and at this point it is assumed that the anabolic steroid user has gained enough experience and acquired enough knowledge to take on the status of an advanced user.
While an advanced steroid stack will include many advanced level compounds such as anadrol and trenbolone, this does not mean that an advanced anabolic steroid cycle cannot be a basic testosterone only cycle protocol.
We have previously discussed that intermediate and advanced anabolic steroid users are not limited to using very harsh compounds, very high doses, or complex cycle stacks.
Often, most advanced users will opt for the basic, reliable and authentic method of a testosterone only cycle or a very basic anabolic steroid cycle.
This can be very surprising for beginners (and prospective anabolic steroid users), as they often don't have a proper understanding of what it means to be an advanced anabolic steroid user.
Once again, we must remind the reader that the following two things define an advanced anabolic steroid user:
- The accumulation of cycling experience, training experience, knowledge and understanding that can only come from years of anabolic steroid use.
- A complete understanding of one's own body, its reactions and responses to various compounds, substances and stimuli, gained through years of anabolic steroid cycling experience.
The definition of an advanced user is not an individual who uses increasingly higher doses of anabolic steroids with each subsequent cycle.
Mistaking Yourself for an Advanced User
One point of great importance to the reader is the fact that many beginner and intermediate anabolic steroid users often make the mistake of thinking they are ready to participate in advanced steroid cycles and cycle protocols.
Moving into the advanced phase without being prepared or having the proper experience can lead to injury, risk, and/or potential body damage and frustration, which is a very dangerous mistake that every individual should avoid falling into.
In the realm of anabolic steroid use, the natural progression from basic/beginner to advanced/elite is the same as the progression of any other training or practice in any aspect of life: It is necessary to build the basic foundation, knowledge and skills needed to eventually reach the intermediate level of experience and ultimately the advanced level.
No individual can start any activity or journey at an advanced level.
For example, every individual must first learn basic math skills before learning advanced calculus at the college level.
If you were to give an individual an advanced calculus equation, they would be lost, confused, and have no idea how to solve the given equation.
Just like when using anabolic steroids, the learning curve will vary from individual to individual, but the general idea is that the experience will develop slowly through all subsequent cycles.
Delving into advanced steroid stacks, cycle protocols, and anabolic steroids that are only available to advanced level users often leads to disappointing results, as well as a high potential for injury and risk.
And then there are the frequently asked questions.
"After how many cycles am I considered an advanced user?"
The answer is that the number of cycles and amount of cycling experience is just one of many factors involved in determining the experience level of an anabolic steroid user.
Remember, as mentioned earlier in this article, it's a combination of many factors.
It should also be emphasized that it is ultimately up to the individual to decide whether or not they truly and honestly feel they are an advanced anabolic steroid user, and that honesty with oneself is paramount when assessing one's level of experience.
Individuals who know that they are not yet ready to progress to advanced steroid cycles and cycle protocols should be honest and straightforward with themselves, and recognize that they may need to do more reading/research and participate in a few more basic or intermediate steroid cycles before progressing.
Advanced Steroid Cycle Protocols
Advanced anabolic steroid users may or may not engage in anabolic steroid cycle protocols that may be out of the ordinary or contrary to common understanding for beginners.
This is because, once again, advanced users have the necessary experience and knowledge of their individual body's response.
Some of these protocols include high-dose testosterone cycles, examples of which are provided in the advanced cycle examples.
There are also many different opinions and reasons as to why advanced users utilize steroid cycles in a different way.
High Dose Testosterone Cycles
These are cycles that always utilize excessively high doses of testosterone alone, and are only available to advanced users who wish to participate in cycles containing high doses of testosterone.
Advanced users should be experienced enough to understand how to control side effects with ancillary compounds (e.g. SERMS and AIs) and have both the knowledge and practical experience to properly manage the potential risks of 1,000 mg of testosterone per week.
In these cycles, other compounds are not typically used in conjunction with testosterone because the dosage is already very high.
These cycles can be considered a sort of "back to basics cycle for beginners".
The only time an advanced user would add other compounds alongside a very high dose of testosterone would be if they were competing in a contest that required the use of excessive anabolic steroids.
It is not recommended for the average recreational user who uses these compounds for cosmetic purposes.
High-dose short cycle
This cycling practice involves the use of very high doses of anabolic steroids (or anabolic steroid stacks) in a single cycle, a cycle that utilizes almost exclusively short ester compounds.
The purpose of using only short ester compounds is that they have a shorter release rate and a faster peak at optimal plasma concentrations of the hormone.
This allows plasma levels to rise quickly and fall quickly after discontinuation.
Overall, the idea is to allow for very short cycles (around 4 week cycles) to achieve a very rapid and manageable increase that the body can sustain, while lowering the incidence of HPTA suppression and/or termination.
The faster a cycle can be completed, the lower the incidence of severe HPTA suppression from use.
As discussed earlier in this article, longer cycles (12 weeks or more) provide higher levels of HPTA suppression, and it is much more difficult to regain HPTA function after prolonged suppression.
These shorter cycles (4 weeks or less) also allow advanced anabolic steroid users to engage in subsequent cycles sooner after a quick recovery (although this is not always recommended).
Long esterified anabolic steroids are not effective at all in these high dose short cycle protocols because the release rate of the long esterified compounds is too long.
Advanced Cycle Example
Advanced Cycle Example #1 (12 weeks total cycle time)
1-12week |
-Testosterone Enanthate 100 mg/week -Trenbolone Enanthate 800mg/week -Drostanolone Enanthate 400mg/week |
Advanced Cycle Example #2 (8 weeks total cycle time)
1-8week |
-Testosterone Propionate 25mg every other day (100mg/week) -Trenbolone Acetate 100mg every other day (400mg/week) -Anadrol 60mg /day |
Advanced Cycle Example #3 (12 weeks total cycle time)
1-12week |
-Testosterone Enanthate (1,000 mg/week) |
Advanced Cycle Example #4 (4-week high capacity short cycle)
1-4week |
-Testosterone Propionate 150mg daily (1,050mg/week) -Trenbolone Acetate 150mg daily (1,050mg/week) |
It is important to remember that these are high intensity steroid cycles and caution should be exercised when using these doses of anabolic steroids.
It is also strongly recommended that you seek medical guidance and have regular blood tests done.
