British Dragon

Early History of British Dragon

British Dragon steroids have become a household word among bodybuilders and anabolic steroid users, and over time, British Dragon has become known as perhaps the largest underlab laboratory (UGL).

At one point in history, most anabolic steroid black markets were saturated with British Dragon steroids, and it was the brand on the list of almost every source.

What started out as a small anabolic steroid importer and exporter run by two men in Thailand became, over time, a massive underlab laboratory that manufactured millions of injectable anabolic steroids, oral anabolic steroids, and ancillary drugs.

Thailand is well known to bodybuilders around the world who use anabolics as a “hormone paradise” where pharmaceutical grade anabolic steroids are readily available legally.

This is still true today, but prior to 2010, importing (or exporting) anabolic steroids to other countries was much easier than it is now.

In the anabolic steroid-using community, Thailand is also well known for the pharmaceutical brand known by the trade name Anabol (methandrostenolone), which is manufactured by a legitimate pharmaceutical company called british dispensary.

The story of British Dragon Steroids began when one of the two founders, a man named Richard, decided to move to Thailand after being convicted and imprisoned for fraud in the United Kingdom and decided to relocate to Thailand, where he entered the anabolic steroid market.

While in Thailand, Richard met a friend named Mark (who also goes by the alias Justin), and the two started an underlab lab called British Dragon in 1999.

The label and name British Dragon was specifically chosen because it is very similar to the name of Anabol's manufacturer, British Dispensaries.

This began to fuel the popularity of British Dragon steroids, and it became known that the first British Dragon steroids were copies of British Dispensary Anabol products.

Soon after, a third partner named Kenneth C. joined British Dragon and was responsible for stamping these tablets in their newly established underlab laboratory business.

With the success of British Dragon's Anabol copycat products, British Dispensary began stamping its logo on Anabol tablets (and even used holographic security stickers on the bottles) to combat copycats and counterfeits.

In 2000, the United States pressured other countries to join an international shutdown of online pharmacies that were selling prescription drugs without prescriptions to customers in the United States and other countries.

This resulted in a crackdown in Thailand that seized 2.5 million drugs and arrested 22 people for violating Thai laws on the import and export of drugs.

The crackdown made Thai customs much stricter and made it much harder to move illegal products through Thailand.

This event would eventually lead to British Dragon's growth from a small lab to a large manufacturing plant and become one of the most popular underground brands in the world of bodybuilding and anabolic steroids.

The drug crackdown of 2000 left a huge profitability void in the market, and with no one to fill it, British Dragon stepped in to fill the void.

British Dragon Grows Big The crackdown in 2000 focused primarily on the export of legally purchased anabolic steroids and other drugs from Thailand, which created a huge opportunity for under-the-counter products.

To fill this gap, British Dragon began manufacturing a full range of oral and injectable anabolic steroids, as well as Dianabol tablets, under its own brand, and British Dragon Steroids grew rapidly in record time and in record volumes.

Eventually, British Dragon Steroids became so popular that they developed their own security measures and custom engraved logos and holographic stickers to ensure the legitimacy of their products.

British Dragon Steroids has evolved from a shoddy workshop with questionable quality to what could be considered a pharmaceutical-grade drug manufacturing facility.

In just a few short years, “British Dragon” became a household word among anabolic steroid users, and the two letters BD became widely recognized by everyone in the subculture.

By 2004, British Dragon had connected with multiple suppliers and was operating on multiple fronts, and by April 2005, three different locations were manufacturing British Dragon steroids with different security codes, measures, and product sticker labels due to the different regions requiring supply.

British Dragon grew significantly, especially in Eastern Europe, and a dealer named Alin, who partnered with British Dragon to supply the product outside the country, worked to legitimize British Dragon as a legitimate pharmaceutical company.

British Dragon's three partners and Alin worked to raise the funds necessary to establish a legitimate pharmaceutical business in Eastern Europe.

But things soon went south when British Dragon's steroids were delivered to Vadim, a supplier in Ukraine, without the owner's approval.

However, the only British Dragon steroids sold to Vadim were oral tablets.

Since Vadim only had tablets, it was strongly suspected that he began manufacturing fake (counterfeit British Dragon) injectables at this time.

Soon after, rumors and conflicting information about the legality of British Dragon steroids spread.

Many in the subculture then began to doubt the quality of British Dragon.

In 2005, it was officially confirmed that Vadim had indeed started selling counterfeit copies of the British Dragon steroid in Hong Kong (the product was manufactured in India by BM Pharmaceuticals and sold exclusively to Vadim, who then tried to sell it as a British Dragon knockoff).

British Dragon quickly responded to Vadim by spreading information about the counterfeit products on the internet, and continued its aggressive PR strategy whenever the quality of British Dragon steroids was questioned.

British Dragon is arrested

On December 15, 2005, the DEA seized several shipments of anabolic steroids from Mexico, leading to an investigation of British Dragon.

In August 2006, Richard and Mark decided to end their partnership with Arlin and either buy out Arlin or take over the company themselves.

In October 2006, the DEA's office in Vienna, Austria, received information about British Dragon from the DEA's office in Bangkok, Thailand, which further heated up the investigation.

The DEA then began investigating British Dragon's steroid use through phone taps and computer and email surveillance.

By December 2006, British Dragon's partner-owners wanted to cut ties with Arlene, and with the DEA looming, British Dragon's partners and employees began fighting over their share of the company and what to do with the company's legacy after the DEA raid.

In 2007, Mark, one of British Dragon's partner-owners, decided to contact the DEA office in Vienna to provide information to avoid going to jail.

But things took a turn for the worse when, while in Vienna, he needed to board a flight and was declared too drunk to board.

Mark decided to leave the airport and check into the NH Hotel in Vienna instead.

Under extreme stress, fear of jail, and with Interpol following him for months, Mark decided to take his own life.

That same month after Mark's suicide, the DEA, with the cooperation of Thai police, raided Richard's home along with another individual known by the alias Redcat (aka Ashley) who sold oral anabolic steroids in paper form and worked with British Dragon.

The DEA focused almost exclusively on Richard because he was the second highest partner owner of British Dragon Steroids.

Richard decided to fight extradition, which takes years to finalize.

However, through other connections arrested at the time, all information related to British Dragon was leaked to the DEA, including all purchase and sale lists for over a decade, bribes, inducements, steroid raw materials purchased from suppliers, and inventory purchases.

Eventually, Richards was forced to sell the British Dragon website and was finally extradited to the United States in 2011 after a three-year extradition battle.

With all the evidence and informants against him, Richard pleaded guilty.

He was imprisoned in the US for a short time, but was released early due to pneumonia, and the US government did not want to pay for his medical bills or risk him dying while incarcerated.

Richard, one of the founders of British Dragon, died of pneumonia on July 1, 2011.

A new British Dragon?

As can be generally expected with the fall of the huge anabolic steroid empire that was British Dragon, there was a huge lucrative hole/void for labs of varying quality to fill in its place.

There are many claims on the internet and in the anabolic steroid community that there are certain brands that claim to be manufacturing British Dragon steroids again as of 2012-2013.

The truth is that there are multiple laboratories manufacturing anabolic steroids under the British Dragon label until recently, and individuals are strongly advised not to trust or purchase these products.

There are certain underground labs that claim to be the “new and reformulated British Dragon” and claim to have considerable credibility over other questionable labs that label their products as British Dragon steroids, but only time will tell if this is true.

This new British Dragon has a completely different label, is from a completely different brand and lab, and looks nothing like the original British Dragon of many years ago.

Only time will tell if this new British Dragon is worth the money.

Also, many dealers, and suppliers will claim to be selling leftover stock or new British Dragon steroids.

This should once again raise a big warning and red flag, as the original British Dragon (BD) was ultimately discontinued in 2006 and original British Dragon steroids have not been manufactured for many years.

With the owner and manufacturer of the original British Dragon arrested and imprisoned, any source claiming to sell old stock of the original British Dragon product or any source of new BD is lying and should not be trusted at all.

Even if the product is indeed old, authentic British Dragon, the contents of the bottle are likely to be expired or stale and not worth the money you're paying for it.
